Main Conditions

  • Entries will not be specially acknowledged. The entry fee has to be paid in the Festival office. This must be done at least two hours before the tournament begins.
  • GM, IM and players who already paid their entry fee must confirm their participation at the Festival office at least one hour before the beginning of the first round. If not, the player won't be paired.
  • The tournaments will qualify for Swiss and FIDE ratings (where applicable).
  • Players who provide false information on their entry form (especially concerning ratings) risk being excluded from the tournament.
  • The FIDE Elo rating lists May 2010 and July 2010 as well as the Swiss Elo lists 2/2010 and 3/2010 are valid for the admission to the tournaments. For the categorize's prizes, the FIDE rating has priority.
  • Prizes are valid for more than 100 participants per tournament (MTO, ATO, RAP, BTO).
  • The mentioned special prizes are only for players scoring 50% or more.
  • No smoking in the tournament hall
  • No mobile phones in the tournament hall

Swiss Chess960 Championship

Mode of playing: Chess960

July 17th 2010.

7 round Swiss system.

15' + 5" per player.

Prizes: CHF 500, 400, 300, 200, 100, 5x50, natural prizes for all players, best lady, best junior (1992+) and best players with Elo <1800: CHF 100. Total prize fund: CHF 2'050 + natural prizes.

Playing schedule: 1.00 - 7.00 p.m.

Prizegiving: 7.30 p.m.

Entries will be taken latest July 17th 2010 until 12 a.m. at the reception.

Hanowa Swiss Rapid Chess Championship

July 18th 2010.

9 round Swiss system.

20' per player.

Prizes: CHF 1'200, 800, 600, 500, 400, 300, 200, 150, 2x100, natural prizes for players with 5½ points and more, best lady, best senior (1950-), best junior (1992+): each CHF 200, best child (1994+), best player without title: each CHF 100, best Swiss (with Swiss-passport): CHF 400, 300, 200, 2x100, best players with Elo <2000 and <1800: CHF 300, 200, 100, 2x50. Total prize fund: CHF 7'650 + natural prizes.

Playing schedule:
1st - 5th round: 9.30 - 12.45 a.m.,
5th - 9th round: 2.00 - 6.00 p.m.

Prizegiving: 6.15 p.m.

Master Tournament

Cadence: 40/2 and 60' KO.

Prizes: CHF 7'000, 5'000, 4'000, 3'000, 2'500, 2'000, 1'500, 1'200, 2x1'000, 3x700, 3x500, 4x300, 5x200, best ladies: CHF 600, 400, 300, best senior (1950-), best junior (1992+), best child (1994+), best player without title: each CHF 500, best players with Elo <2200 and <2100: CHF 500, 400, 300, 200, 100, best Swiss players (with CH-passport): CHF 1'000, 700, 500, 300, 200. Total prize fund: CHF 43'000.

Admission: players with FIDE- or CH-rating ELO 2000 and more.

Entrants without international rating must show proof of playing strength. Applications must be received no later than May 31st 2010 (they should include all tournaments results from the past two years and should be signed by the club president).

Entries will be taken latest July 19th 2010 until 12 a.m. at the reception.

Admission: players with FIDE rating ELO 2050 and below (list May or July 2010) or players with national rating ELO 2050 and below (e.g. Swiss ELO list 2/10 or 3/10), independent of their FIDE rating.

Entrants without international or national rating must show proof of playing strength.

Foreign players without national rating are not qualified to get prizes.

In all special cases the tournament organiser will have the final decision.

Entries will be taken latest July 21st 2010 until 12 a.m. at the reception.

Swiss Blitz Chess Championship

July 25th 2010.

13 round Swiss system.

5' per player.

Prizes: CHF 800, 600, 500, 400, 300, 250, 200, 150, 2x100, 2x50, best lady, best senior (1950-), best junior (1992+): each CHF 100, best child (1994+): CHF 50, best Swiss (with Swiss passport): CHF 200, 150, 100, 2x50. Total prize fund: CHF 4'400 + natural prizes.

Playing schedule:
1st - 5th round: 2 p.m. - 3.30 p.m.,
6th - 10th round: 3.45 p.m.-5.15 p.m.,
11th - 13th round: 5.30 p.m.-6.15 p.m.

Entries will be taken latest July 25th 2010 until 0.30 p.m. at the reception.

Foundation Vinetum Youth Tournament

July 25th 2010.

9 round Swiss System.

The Foundation Vinetum offers free entry fee, free lunch and natural prizes for all participants.

Playing schedule: 10 a.m. - 5.30 p.m.

Admission: juniors born 1992 and later.

Entries will be taken latest July 25th 2010 until 9.30 a.m. at the reception.
