  • 9.00-10.30 am: Check-in delivery of informed consent and badges.
  • 11.00 am: Welcoming speech
  • 11.15 am: Scanning of the participants at the entry to the playing hall
  • 11.30 am: Start of the 1st round
  • 13.00-14.00: Lunch
  • 16.30: 2nd round
July 27:
  • 9.15 am: Scanning
  • 9.30 am: 3rd round
  • 11.30-13.00: Lunch
  • 14.15: Scanning
  • 14.30: 4th round

July 28:

  • 9.15 am: Scanning
  • 9.30 am: 5th round
  • 11.30-13.00: Lunch

July 29:

  • 9.15 am: Scanning
  • 9.30 am: 7th round, followed by eventual tie-breaks, then prize giving ceremony.

Ranking Final standings will be established according to the point score, Buchholz and Buchholz sum. 
Participation The qualified players are invited by the Swiss Chess Federation.

Check-in All participants are expected to confirm their presence at the check-in desk until 10.30 am on Sunday, July 26, 2020.
Miscellaneous Draw proposals are not allowed before the 31st move.
The tournament is rated for the Swiss and the FIDE rating list.
All games will be transmitted to the internet with a time delay of a quarter of an hour.
Electronic devices of players, accompanying persons and spectators must be completely switched off.
Accompanying persons, trainers and spectators must remain outside the playing area.
According to the anti-cheating guidelines of the FIDE, there is a suitable detector available in the tournament hall.
The players receive three vouchers for the meals at midday (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). In case of need, the accompanying persons are requested to order their vouchers (CHF 20 each) in advance per e-mail: info@bielchessfestival.
You can book per e-mail (info@bielchessfestival) a double room in Hotel Mercure for CHF 420 from July 26 to 29, 2020 - or for CHF 560 from July 25 to 29.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the entire building.
