A total of 99 participants took part in the Swiss Individual Blitz Chess Championship at the Congress Centre in Biel. Players in this category have three minutes to play each game, plus 2 seconds per move, which are credited additionally. The playing hall was correspondingly busy.
The prize for the best woman of the tournament went to WFM Mariia Manko, who reached 19th place, best junior was Simon Schellenberg in 11th place, best senior IM Nedeljko Kelecevic in 13th place.

Outlook: Swiss Championship in Rapid Chess
On Sunday, the 56th Biel Chess Festival will conclude with the Swiss Individual Championship in Rapid Chess. In this discipline, the players have 15 minutes of thinking time per game, plus 5 seconds per move. The tournament, which will be played over nine rounds, will start at 9:45 a.m. and the prize-giving ceremony is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
